RBSE Class 10 Narration Rules in Hindi: 'Narration' का साधारण अर्थ है- बात को कहने का तरीका।
जब वक्ता (Speaker) की बात को ज्यों का त्यों कहा जाए, तो उसे Direct Speech कहते हैं। और जब उसी बात को हम अपने शब्दों में (मसाला लगाकर) कहते हैं, तो उसे Indirect Speech कहते हैं।
Direct: Ram said to me, "I am writing a letter."
Indirect: Ram told me that he was writing a letter.
🖐️ The 5 Finger Rules (5 बदलाव)
Direct से Indirect बनाते समय आपको केवल 5 चीजें बदलनी होती हैं। इन्हें क्रम से याद रखें:
- Reporting Verb (Said to ➝ Told/Asked)
- Connective (Comma हटाकर That/If लगाना)
- Pronoun (I, You, We को बदलना)
- Tense (Is ➝ Was)
- Time & Distance (Now ➝ Then)
Step 1 & 2: Reporting Verb & Connective

Step 3: Pronoun Change (SON/123 Formula)
यह सबसे पेचीदा हिस्सा है। इसे समझने के लिए नीचे दिए गए डायग्राम को देखें:
- 🔹 1st Person (I, We): Subject (बोलने वाले) के अनुसार बदलें।
- 🔹 2nd Person (You): Object (सुनने वाले) के अनुसार बदलें।
- 🔹 3rd Person (He, She, Name): No Change.
Step 4: Tense Change
सीधा नियम: "Present को Past में धक्का दे दो।"
- V1 / do / does ➡ V2 / did
- Is / am / are ➡ Was / were
- Has / have ➡ Had
- Can / may ➡ Could / might
अगर वाक्य में Universal Truth (शाश्वत सत्य) हो, तो Tense नहीं बदलेगा।
Teacher said, "The sun sets in the west."
✅ Teacher said that the sun sets in the west. (No Change)
📝 Solved Examples for Exam
Q1: She said to Hari, "Are you ill?"
Ans: She asked Hari if he was ill.
(Note: प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य साधारण बन जाता है, इसलिए was को he के बाद लगाया।)
Q2: The doctor said to me, "Do not eat sweets."
Ans: The doctor advised me not to eat sweets.
(Note: Imperative वाक्यों में 'to' या 'not to' से जोड़ते हैं।)
